When I was growing up, many of the pictures on the walls were family portraits, dating back as far as Napoleon. Living with them led me to consider portraiture the most engaging kind of art. As a portrait artist, I am fascinated by the fact that virtually every face begins to look wonderful when I focus my attention on it long enough to draw it. And to me, a successful portrait is a record of the best qualities of the sitter, so that anyone looking at it can see what there is to care about in this face, and what makes this person fine.
If you have a specific interest regarding portraits in oil or pastel send me an email to: enobleportraits@optonline.net and I will respond with some images for you to view. Thanks for stopping by, Beth
